There are several oil depots and a military base with Shaheds in the city.

On the morning of November 13, powerful explosions took place in the Russian city of Orel. Fires broke out in several districts of the regional center after the attack. Russians were gripped by panic due to "strong claps" in the city, writes Observer.

Preliminary reports say Orel was attacked by UAVs and Flamingo rockets. This is reported by monitoring Telegram channels.

Details of the attack

The air alert in the Orel region was announced after 4:00 am. Soon after, a series of powerful explosions went off in the sky above the region. Russians on social media complained that Orel was attacked by several waves of UAV jets.

Local residents complained that they saw powerful flashes, after which explosions went off at once in several neighborhoods of the city. Explosions were also reported in the village of Znamenka, located several kilometers from Orel.

More than 10 explosions were heard in some districts of Orel. The powerful sounds were heard around 06.20 local time. It is claimed that debris from one of the drones crashed into a parking lot next to residential buildings and damaged several cars.

It should be noted that Orel is home to several oil depots.

Orle is also home to a military base from which Russian troops launch Iranian Shahed-type drones at Ukraine. This base has 8 launch pads on the ground and a 2.8 km long road section where drones can be launched from vehicles.

The city is located at a distance of about 150 km from the northeastern border of Ukraine.
