(Updated) The enterprise is blazing.
On the night of November 12, strike drones attacked the Stavrolen chemical plant located in the town of Budennovsk in Russia's Stavropol region.
The plant was targeted three times by drones, the "Supernova+" telegram channel reported.
"Budennovsk attacked by Stavrolen Ltd. Continues to burn ... no less than three accurate hits," the report said.
The network also released a photo showing the glow from the fire at LLC Stavrolen.
At the same time, the governor of Stavropol Krai, Vladimir Vladimirov, said that Russian air defense forces had repelled an attack by Ukrainian drones over Budennovsk.
"A fire broke out from the wreckage of downed UAVs in the Budennovskaya industrial zone. Fire crews and emergency services are working at the site. According to operational data, there are no casualties, residential houses are not damaged, life support systems operate in normal mode," Vladimirov wrote.
At the time of publication of the material, the Ukrainian side did not comment on the drone attacks on the Stavropol region and the defeat of LLC "Stavrolen".
According to Ukrainian media reports, which refer to local residents, the "arrivals" came to the petrochemical enterprise "Stavrolen", which is part of the structure of "Lukoil". The plant, as reported by Expert Yug, is one of the main producers of polyethylene and polypropylene in Russia. It was also ranked third in the rating "100 largest companies of the North Caucasian Federal District by volume of products sold in 2021". According to estimates, "Stavrolen" produces about 340 thousand tons of ethylene, 319 thousand tons of polyethylene and 113 thousand tons of polypropylene per year, which are used in the production of pipes, films, cable insulation and paint and varnish materials. "Crimean Wind" notes that the plant works "in the interests of the Russian military-industrial complex." The enterprise came under attack by Ukrainian drones for the second time in two weeks.
