Kyastutis Budris urged the U.S. special envoy on Belarus to increase pressure on Lukashenko's regime.

On November 10, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kiastutis Budrys met with the recently appointed U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Cole in Washington. The results of the meeting were reported by the press service of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, Kęstutis Budrys noted that despite the measures taken by Lithuania and the international community, the Belarusian regime continues hybrid attacks against Lithuania, which poses a threat to the safety of international aviation and increases tension in the region. Therefore, the minister said, it is necessary to increase pressure on the regime and expand sanctions.

Budris also informed the U.S. diplomat about the ongoing violations of airspace by weather balloons and illegal migration flows, emphasizing that Belarus' actions are deliberate and hostile. He also thanked the U.S. for its support and solidarity in the situation with hybrid attacks by Belarus.

In addition, the sides discussed the role of Belarus in supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine.
