The former French president will wait for the appeal to be released.
On Monday, November 10, a court granted former French President Nicolas Sarkozy's request to be released from prison pending an appeal, writes Le Figaro.
The court ruled that "continued pre-trial detention is not justified."
As a result, the court decided that the former president will be under judicial supervision, which will include a ban on leaving France.
He is expected to leave La Sante prison on Monday, November 10.
At the same time, the court forbade Sarkozy from contacting Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin. The latter visited him in prison on October 29.
Minutes after the ruling was announced, Sarkozy's lawyer called the court's decision "a normal application of the criminal procedure code."
"The next step will be the appeals process. Our task with Sarkozy is to prepare for the appeal hearing," he added.
The 70-year-old former conservative president was found guilty of criminal conspiracy to obtain funds for his 2007 presidential campaign from the late dictator Muammar Gaddafi through his close aides.
He was cleared of all other charges, including corruption and receiving illegal campaign financing.
