Media: Special Units Of The GUR Launched A Bold Counteroffensive In Pokrovsk

Special units of the GUR have launched a counteroffensive near the town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Region to unblock key logistical routes. Military intelligence storm troopers entered the areas of the city, which the occupiers declared "captured".

This was reported by The Economist Oliver Carroll in his X-account on Friday, October 31. He also released footage in which Ukrainian scouts can be seen landing from helicopters.

Carroll said he had received information from Ukraine's military intelligence service.

"Ukraine's military intelligence is conducting a bold counter-attack near Pokrovsk to restore key logistical lines. The video I shared shows helicopters landing in areas Russia claims it is holding," Carroll reported.

The journalist noted that he was unable to verify the video himself.

The RBC-Ukraine publication, however, reported that its sources in the Defense Forces confirmed the information about the GUR counterattack, as well as the authenticity of the video released by Carroll.

At the same time, Suspilny's sources confirmed that the GUR had launched a complex landing operation in Pokrovsk.

Military intelligence storm troopers have entered the city's neighborhoods, which the Russian military leadership has declared "captured" and are strategically important for Ukrainian logistics.

The landing operation is being carried out by special units and aviation of the military intelligence, and several helicopters have been involved. The actions are personally directed by the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov, who is on the scene.
