Malta Nominated Trump For The Nobel Peace Prize

Malta's Foreign Ministry urged the U.S. leader to continue his work in the Middle East and Ukraine.

Malta's Foreign Minister Ian Borg said he has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is quoted by Times of Malta.

"Presented the American president with a letter written on my behalf informing him that, like many others, I have nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize," the publication said.

Borg added that he urged the American leader to continue his work in the Middle East and Ukraine, and also noted Trump's mediation work in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

On October 10, the Nobel committee will announce the winner of the peace prize that Donald Trump has been seeking for so long. Since his return to the White House, the politician has repeatedly spoken about his desire to win the award, and therefore has made efforts to present himself as a peacemaker.
