And it's not Pokrovsk or Kupyansk.

The Russian army's Dnepr group is advancing toward Zaporizhzhya, Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a snippet of the speech, published by the Russian media outlet You've Been Listening to Mayak, the Russian general can be heard assuring that air strikes on Ukrainian cities and important facilities will continue.

Gerasimov told Putin that they will soon be advancing on Zaporozhye and plan to occupy two settlements - Stepnogorsk and Primorskoye. According to him, they will continue to try to advance in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region.

Gerasimov's statement came on Tuesday, October 7, during a meeting between the military and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was just celebrating his birthday. RosSMI TASS cited other details of the Russian General Staff chief's speech. Among other things, the speech referred to the offensive on Seversk, Konstantinovka (the South group) and the allegedly almost complete occupation of Kupyansk (the West group).
