European Parliament Recommends EU Countries To Shoot Down Russian Planes

The European Parliament has recommended EU countries to use military force to intercept and destroy Russian warplanes in case they penetrate European airspace.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the broadcast of the European Parliament meeting.

The corresponding resolution on a "unified response" to Russian attacks on EU territory was approved by a majority of deputies. The document was backed by 469 MPs, with 97 against and 38 abstaining.

It says the European Parliament supports all measures aimed at harmonized and proportional steps in response of EU countries in case of any violations of their air borders up to the elimination of potential threats from the air.

The European Parliament also strongly condemned Russia's "reckless and escalating actions" to violate the airspace of EU member states and NATO allies Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania, as well as deliberate drone incursions on critical infrastructure in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
