Parliamentarians supported the bill.

The Verkhovna Rada has supported in the first reading the bill No. 12349, which provides for the creation of Cybersil in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The press service of the Ukrainian parliament reports this in Telegram.

It is known that 255 MPs voted "in favor", MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said.

The bill on the creation of Cybersil

The explanatory note to the bill states that it provides for the creation of military and technical organizational structure within the AFU according to NATO standards, which will be responsible for the cyber defense of Ukraine, the protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity in cyberspace.

Tasks of the Cyber Force

The primary task of the Ukrainian Cyber Force will be to prepare and conduct military activities for cyber defense of the state, to protect the sovereignty and inviolability of Ukraine in cyberspace or using it.

It should be noted that cyber troops exist in more than 40 countries around the world and it is part of the global trend in strengthening cyber defense.

According to Defense Minister Denis Shmygal, within the framework of the Cyber Force's activities, military cooperation with NATO and other partners is envisioned to counter common threats in cyberspace.

Importantly, the Cyber Force will also be able to attract civilians to its ranks who will not acquire the status of military personnel and will perform tasks in accordance with the concluded contract.
