A condition is named.
Ukraine will nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if the head of the White House ensures a ceasefire in Ukraine. This was announced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting with journalists on October 9.
At the same time, Zelensky believes that Russian dictator Vladimir "Putin is afraid of ceasefires because it is difficult for him to go from ceasefire to war again.
"From full-scale war to go to ceasefire, and then to start full-scale war again - it is not easy for them. It's not easy economically, it's not easy with society, it's not easy with peace. And it is definitely not easy with those countries that are still shaking his hand today," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president said that for these reasons it is so difficult for the Americans to force Putin to real negotiations, and that is why he is choosing war for now. However, that will probably stop if pressure on Russia is increased.
"We need more pressure on Russia. The pressure will work. When they have more to lose from the war than they might lose in other scenarios. Our long-range strikes, strong sanctions, stand on the battlefield, defend themselves, but certainly support peace initiatives because it's the right thing to do - it will work," Zelensky emphasized.
