Russian Federation Prepares Provocations With Ukrainian Prisoners In Belarus

Russians are preparing a series of provocations with Ukrainian prisoners in Belarus, forcing them to record video messages to their parents complaining about the alleged "inaction" of the Ukrainian side.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting with journalists on October 8.

"Complicated negotiations on the lists are being conducted by Rustem Umerov with Vladimir Medinsky. It is clear to us from the data of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service what the Russians want to do. They want to fill the lists of Ukrainians only from their side, despite our request," Zelensky said.

He also added that the Russians want to bring some captives to Belarus and force them to record video messages to their parents, as if the Ukrainian authorities are not taking their citizens.

"Such Russian provocations are being prepared. This is just an attempt to pressure us. But we are doing everything so that all previous agreements on exchanges are realized, and we were talking about different stages of exchanges. We are working to bring all our people home," the Ukrainian president added.
