This will sober up the Russians.
Deliveries of American long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine may make the Russians sober up and sit down at the negotiating table.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this at a meeting with journalists on October 8, according to RBC-Ukraine.
The Ukrainian head of state noted that US President Donald Trump "can give Ukraine some long-range things" that will definitely strengthen the country.
Zelensky said he first raised such an issue with Trump back in New York last fall, when the latter was only a presidential candidate. There was no refusal at the last meeting, and there were promises to work at the technical level and consider such a possibility.
The president pointed out that he raised the issue of supplying new long-range weapons during the last administration of Joe Biden, but there was a refusal then.
"Now the important signal is to strengthen Ukraine with all possibilities. And this is one such capability that is important to me - the Tomahawks. All such things can strengthen Ukraine and make the Russians sober up. Sober up a little bit, sit down at the negotiating table," Zelensky emphasized.
What Trump said
We will recall that a few days ago, US President Donald Trump said that the decision regarding the supply of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine is almost made.
The American leader specified that he wants to find out what Ukraine can do with them and where to launch them.
