The U.S. president also announced that his administration is "establishing a Peace Council."
As part of the first phase of the peace agreement reached by Israel and Hamas, the hostages are likely to be released on Monday.
U.S. President Donald Trump said this, CNN reports.
"The main thing is the release of the hostages. Presumably on Monday (Oct. 13. - ed.)," the president said in a telephone interview with Fox News.
The president also announced that his administration is "setting up a Peace Council" to bring a lasting end to the conflict in the region.
Gaza Reconstruction and the UN Mission
In addition, Trump said "other countries" in the Middle East are willing to help rebuild Gaza, but did not specify which nations he was referring to.
"We believe that Gaza will be a much safer place and it will be an area that will be rebuilt. Other countries in the region will help rebuild it because they have enormous wealth and they want to see that happen," the president said.
He added that the United States will also be involved to "help make this process successful" and ensure a long-lasting peaceful life in the enclave.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said earlier that the United Nations will "support the full implementation" of a cease-fire and hostage release agreement in Gaza.
"The UN will expand the provision of stable and principled humanitarian assistance and contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza," Guterres said.
A Plan to End the War in the Gaza Strip
Last week, Donald Trump put forward a 20-point plan for a settlement in the Gaza Strip.
The document calls for the creation of an international "Peace Council" that would oversee a "technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee" responsible for the day-to-day management of Gaza. The Council will be chaired by Trump himself and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
October 6, indirect talks between Israel and Hamas began in Egypt, with representatives from Egypt, the U.S. and Qatar mediating.
On October 8, Trump announced that the parties had signed the first phase of his peace plan. According to him, all hostages will soon be released and Israel will withdraw troops to the agreed line.
The US president will visit Israel early next week at the invitation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The leader is scheduled to address the Israeli Knesset.
