Survey.
French President Emmanuel Macron's approval rating has plummeted amid political instability caused by the change of prime ministers.
An Elabe poll commissioned by Les Echos shows this.
According to the poll, only 14% of French people trust Macron's ability to effectively address the challenges facing France - 3 percentage points less than a month ago.
Together, the trust rating for the French president has collapsed by 7 points in two months and by 13 since March 2025.
With a 14% trust rating, Emmanuel Macron has broken his record for unpopularity and equaled the record of his predecessor Francois Hollande, which the former Socialist head of state achieved in November 2016.
At the same time, 82% of respondents overall said they did not trust the current French president, with 59% "not at all." By comparison, in November 2018, at the height of the "yellow vests" protests, 51% did not trust Macron at all.
Elabe President Bernard Sananes said that in the poll Macron was most often accused of being detached from the French, neglecting voters and being overly focused on international issues.
As is well known, the political crisis in France has worsened since October 6, when recently appointed Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu resigned.
