The ec-chief of the AFU criticized the media for spreading information about his "preparation for the elections".
Ukraine's ambassador to the UK Valeriy Zaluzhny has criticized Ukrainian media that spread information that he is allegedly forming a team for elections by inviting military personnel there.
"I do not recognize any ideas of holding elections during the war. Anyone who receives an offer from allegedly my name to join any processes through any organization must report it to the law enforcement agencies. I do not create any headquarters or parties and I have no ties with any political force as a matter of principle," Zaluzhny wrote on social networks.
The ambassador said that the Ukrainian media, having the ability to verify information, "instantly spread fakes in a warring country" and do it in sync with Russian propaganda.
Zaluzhny said that by using anonymous sources, the Russian Federation is "atomizing our society and preparing us for elections, but to the State Duma of the country that is killing us."
"It is a pity that it is our media that do not convey to the citizens of Ukraine a strategy that would result in at least the possibility of elections themselves. However, thanks to them we know everything about ratings, parties, headquarters and even about who should or should not engage in politics," the diplomat said.
He also noted that as long as there is a war, elections in Ukraine to its state bodies are "impossible".
