Tomahawk Vs. The Kremlin: Strategy To Pressure Putin Revealed

  • 8.10.2025, 11:57

The American "carrot-and-stick method" towards the Russian Federation did not work.

President of the Globalistics Center "Strategy XXI", expert on international energy and security issues Mikhail Gonchar assessed the issue of the probability of the U.S. transfer of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

As he emphasized in an interview with "Glavred", the American "carrot-and-stick method" towards the Russian Federation did not work, so Washington created a projection of a threat to Russia.

"If we talk about Tomahawk missiles, I am almost convinced that they will not be given to Ukraine. Yes, we asked for Tomahawk, namely a modification of these missiles, providing for launching from land-based complexes, because Tomahawk is a sea-based cruise missile, and no one will provide them together with warships," the expert said.

He is convinced that the issue of the probability of Tomahawk transfer to Ukraine reveals the US intentions to create additional pressure on Russia.

"Of course, in fact, it may not be about Tomahawk, but about some other types of weapons - say, the Russian Federation is distracted by Tomahawk missiles, but in fact Ukraine receives other missiles. And it is unlikely that the Americans can provide us with something other than the well-known ATACMS," the analyst noted.

Gonchar added that US President Donald Trump has not yet moved from passively assisting Russia to actively countering it, "so now there are more questions than answers."
