Chinese SAMs "lost" On The Way To Chad And Ended Up In The Hands Of Forces Linked To Wagner

This could change the balance of power in the region.

Chad recently signed an agreement with China for the delivery of FB-10A short-range anti-aircraft missile systems, funded by the United Arab Emirates.

But, as reported by TchadOne, shortly after delivery the equipment mysteriously ended up in Sudan - in the hands of the Rapid Reaction Force (RFS) group, which operates with the support of mercenaries of PMC Wagner.

If the fact is confirmed, it will significantly strengthen the Sudanese militants: FB-10A is able to intercept targets at an altitude of up to 7.5 km and a distance of 17 km, and its radar detects threats at 50 km. Such weapons can effectively destroy drones, helicopters and airplanes at low altitudes.

Interestingly, this year the RFS also received another Chinese system, the FK-2000, also with UAE participation. Analysts believe this could be an attempt by China to spread influence in Sudan, using the Emirates as intermediaries to circumvent international restrictions on arms supplies to the conflict zone.

The RFS had previously used Sunflower-200 drones - Chinese copies of Shaheds - during an attack on Port Sudan in May. Then, as now, the Emirates were again implicated in the scheme.
