Protests have resumed in Georgia: thousands of protesters blocked Rustaveli Avenue in the center of Tbilisi.
At first, protesters with flags of Georgia, the European Union and Ukraine gathered in front of the parliament building. After about an hour, they went to Rustaveli Avenue, blocking traffic.
The protests began in Tbilisi on Saturday, October 4, after the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party was announced. The protesters called on citizens to seize state institutions, announcing that they would first occupy the president's residence. At one point, the crowd broke through the iron fence and stormed the courtyard of Orbeliani Palace.
