Barricades And Flames At The Rally Near The Presidential Residence In Tbilisi

Protesters in Tbilisi attempted to storm the Orbeliani presidential palace. Demonstrators broke metal barriers and stormed into the inner courtyard of the residence, after which the police used pepper gas and water cannons.

After the dispersal the demonstrators were forced to retreat. Police have now cordoned off the palace.

The protest continues nonetheless. There are barricades and flames near the presidential residence in Tbilisi.

Reminder that in Georgia, the opposition is holding a rally in the center of Tbilisi and announcing plans for a "peaceful overthrow of the government." The protesters, in particular, attempted to occupy the presidential palace.
