Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has signed a decree on the resignation of Culture Minister Ignotas Adomavicius, who refused to say whose Crimea is his.
This is reported by Delfi.
The duties of the Minister of Culture will be temporarily performed by the Minister of Education, Science and Sports Raminta Popovene.
As indicated, after the appointment of Adomavicius as the new Minister of Culture, a wave of indignation rose: there were questions about the competence of the politician, as well as criticism about the statements of the minister.
In particular, on Friday, when asked by the journalist lrytas.lt, Adomavicius could not immediately answer the question of who Crimea belongs to, and accused her of provocation.
Subsequently, at the insistence of Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė, Adomavicius announced his resignation.
After his resignation, Adomavicius was finally able to answer the question about the belonging of Crimea.
