Lithuania Appealed To The International Civil Aviation Organization And The European Commission

Lithuania has asked the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Commission to assess illegal violations of the country's airspace and consider possible measures at the EU level to prevent such provocations.

This is reported on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Communications and Transport, writes "Mirror".

In his letter, Lithuanian Transport Minister Juras Taminskas asked to assess illegal airspace violations posing a threat to aviation safety under the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation. The Lithuanian authority also asks to consider possible measures at the EU level to prevent such provocations and stresses the need to strengthen the resilience of the EU transport system to hybrid threats, as well as to ensure the protection of critical infrastructure.

"These appeals send a clear signal to the International Civil Aviation Organization and the European Commission that immediate action must be taken to ensure the safety of the airspace and civil aviation of the European Union, and most importantly, without In total, more than 190 flights and about 30,000 passengers were affected.
