Local residents complain that it is impossible to breathe in the city.
Late in the evening of October 2, powerful explosions erupted in the Perm region of the Russian Federation. The Azot chemical plant, the largest producer of nitrogen fertilizers, which is also used to produce explosives, was probably attacked.
According to OSINT analysts Exilenova+, the first explosions in the town of Berezniki, Perm Krai, occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday.
"The Azot branch of OAO Uralchem Chemical Company, Perm Krai, Berezniki, has just been hit. 1700 kilometers from the state border in a straight line. A record in terms of range?", - stated in the message.
Locals say that a total of five drones flew over. Three of them hit the Azot plant. As a result, a fire broke out at the plant.
It is noted that it is one of the largest producers of nitrogen fertilizers in Russia. The plant produces ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate and other products that have a dual purpose - both for agriculture and explosives production. In 2024, the enterprise reached record volumes - more than 2.3 million tons of products.
"The defeat of such a facility is important for both Russia's economic and military logistics," the report said.
At around 11 p.m., there were repeated explosions.
Shop No. 5, which specializes in the production of nitric acid, was probably hit. Local residents complained that it was impossible to breathe in the city.
In the meantime, Telegram channel "Nikolaevsky Vanek" writes that the 14th separate regiment of BpAK worked on the Azot plant in Perm Krai.
