Russian Troops Trapped In Water Due To Dam Blast

The positions of the occupiers are in danger of being flooded.

Ukrainian military expert Alexander Kovalenko writes in Telegram about an unusual turn of events on the Belgorod-Kharkiv direction. According to him, the blowing up of the dam of the Belgorod reservoir was the moment when nature unexpectedly played on Ukraine's side.

The positions of the units of the 128th, 116th, 68th and 136th brigades of the Russian Federation, which are located downstream, were under the threat of flooding. Also under the threat of flooding are the positions of units of the 6th Army of the Russian Federation, namely the 68th/69th Division and the 44th Army Corps.

According to Kovalenko, the water level in the reservoir is falling rapidly, and now the Russian settlements of Bezlyudovka, Novaya Tavolzhanka and the Titovka neighborhood in Shebekino are under the threat of flooding. However, the consequences may be much wider: water from the reservoir began to flow into the Seversky Donets, which leads to flooding of the temporarily occupied territories of Ogurtsovo and Gatishche in Kharkiv region.

It was here that Russian troops concentrated their forces and equipment, including units of the 82nd motorized rifle regiment and the 138th separate motorized rifle brigade. Thus, the actions of nature actually played into the hands of the Ukrainian forces - the enemy's fortifications were jeopardized, and logistics were disrupted.

According to the expert, the Russian units that were trying to expand their zone of control south of Hatyshch, are now themselves in a vulnerable position - the waterlogging is turning their positions into a trap. A similar situation may arise in the area of Volchansk, where the water overflow can complicate the supply of Russian troops, who have settled on the southern bank of the city - at the bakery and Maslova factory.

Kovalenko recalled that on June 6, 2023, the Russians themselves blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant, causing the largest environmental disaster in southern Ukraine. Now it seems as if history is repeating itself, only without the participation of the Ukrainian army.

"You can play this game together," social media users commented on Kovalenko's post.
