The saboteur couldn't pronounce the word "palyanitsa".
Artillerymen of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Hike captured for the first time a Russian military man who was supposed to escort a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group to the town of Konstantinovka in Donetsk region.
Ukrainian artillerymen in Donetsk region managed to accomplish something that is not usually expected from their work. This was reported on October 25 in the Telegram channel of the brigade.
This was the first time in the brigade's history.
"We do not dare to say, but it may even be the first time in this war that you will see such a case," the note reads.
The captured Russian turned out to be not an ordinary mobilized soldier, but an enemy representative of a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG). It was he who was supposed to lead the Russian DRG group inside the town of Konstantinovka itself, as well as "prepare the ground" for an invasion of the Russian Armed Forces from within.
The AFU servicemen thwarted the Russian military's intentions to amass forces in Konstantinovka, the brigade claims.
"Ironically, the artillery, which usually hits from afar, this time worked from close. Literally," the military noted.
The military also said that the captured Russian tried to pass himself off as an Azov fighter. However, the Ukrainian artillerymen checked him by asking him to say the word "palyanitsa".
After that, the Russian pointed a machine gun at one of the Ukrainian fighters, and the other shot the Russian in the leg. The artillerymen captured the Russian.
The captured Russian's name is Oleg. He was fighting against Ukraine for the fourth year in a row, and was from the Russian city of Penza, Penza region.
The occupant will be exchanged, the brigade said.
