'We Are Hunting Your Subs': Britain's Defense Minister Warns Putin

The Royal Navy increased its presence in the North Atlantic.

Britain says Russian submarine activity has increased to Cold War levels. Defense Secretary John Gili warned the Kremlin that the Royal Air Force and Navy are "hunting their submarines" in the North Atlantic.

The BBC reports.

Gili addressed a message to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

"We are hunting your submarines," he said.

Gili said the number of Russian vessels threatening British waters has increased by 30 percent.

This, the minister said, shows an increase in "Russian aggression across the board," which he said affects Europe, not just Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense says Russian submarine activity in the North Atlantic has returned to Cold War levels.

The Royal Air Force and Royal Navy have increased their presence in the North Atlantic, where Russian submarines are most active. The Royal Air Force carries out missions almost daily, sometimes around the clock and often supported by other NATO allies.
