Lithuania Resumes Traffic At Checkpoints On The Border With Belarus

  • 25.10.2025, 12:35

Work was resumed at 12 noon.

October 25, at 12.00 (Minsk time), Lithuania resumed traffic at the border with Belarus at the checkpoints "Miadininkai" (from the Belarusian side - "Kamenny Loh") and "Šalčininkai" (from the Belarusian side - "Beniakoni"). This is evidenced by the data of the video camera, installed at the exit from Belarus to Lithuania at the checkpoint "Kamenny Loh," as well as messages in chat rooms about the border crossing and a message of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

The work of the two checkpoints was resumed at 12.00 noon, as previously announced by the Lithuanian side.

Border chats noted that a few minutes before the border opening, three cars with diplomatic license plates were waiting in "Kamenny Loh" for the exit from Belarus to Lithuania.

Reminder, the previous evening Lithuania closed the border with Belarus, according to preliminary information, because once again weather probes with smuggled cigarettes from our country paralyzed the work of the Lithuanian airport.

Earlier, on October 22, Lithuania already suspended the work of two checkpoints on the border with Belarus because of dozens of meteoprobes that came from there. The incident caused a temporary shutdown of Vilnius airport and affected about 30 flights.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė said that in case of a repeat of the mass launch of smuggled balloons from Belarus, the country would completely close the border.
