Libyan publication Alwasat reported on the objectives of the visit of the son and main heir of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Saddam Haftar who controls eastern Libya.

The meeting focused on strengthening relations between the two countries in a number of vital areas, primarily military cooperation, as well as discussing cooperation in the economic and investment fields.

The publication reports that the Military Information Division of the General Command announced that a new batch of military personnel returned to Libya in early September after taking advanced training courses in Belarus that lasted more than a year.

"The exercises included advanced specializations in counterterrorism, the use of sniper and mortar weapons and building assault tactics," the article noted. - During them maneuvers with live ammunition of all types of weapons were carried out and parachuting was conducted."

Lukashenko met with the son of Libyan Field Marshal Haftar in Minsk on October 22.

Polish media earlier cited the military intelligence service (SWW) reported that fighters from the 36th Special Forces Battalion of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar's Special Forces were training in Vitebsk in late February 2025.

The same days, the base was visited by Saddam Haftar and Ruslan Chlyan, known as "Radimir," the new curator of Russian PMC Wagner activities in Libya. They arrived to observe maneuvers at the training ground.
