The urgent information was announced by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
As a result of a massive combined attack of the Russian Federation on the night of October 22, a number of energy facilities were damaged. The Foreign Ministry urged partners for urgent additional assistance.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga on social network X.
"Instead of diplomacy and peaceful negotiations, Russia continues its brutal strikes on Ukraine. Energy infrastructure and ordinary homes across our country were attacked overnight," the minister said.
At least six people were killed in the attacks, among them a young mother with two small children, he said. A number of energy facilities have been damaged, leaving communities without light, heating and water.
Sibiga stressed that Ukraine needs additional international assistance to support the energy system on the eve of winter.
"I again appeal to all partners, institutions and international organizations to mobilize additional energy support for Ukraine on the eve of winter and prevent a humanitarian crisis in the center of Europe. We need additional energy resources, mobile generating units, repair equipment and additional air defense assets. This is urgent, and we will be grateful for every new announcement," he emphasized.
The minister also recalled the words of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that this attack proves - Russia still does not feel enough pressure that would force it to stop the war.
"It's time to give up wishful thinking for reality and demonstrate strength - new sanctions, decision on frozen assets, strengthening of Ukraine's air defense and long-range capabilities," Sibiga concluded.
