Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service has revealed the details.
Container terminals in the Moscow region began to close, which paralyzes the transport system of Russia. This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
According to the SVR, the Russian Federation has introduced registration of all container sites, operators must have a permit to handle solid municipal waste, as well as container equipment, security, lighting, and even an electric scanner with which to inspect containers.
In such conditions, it is very difficult for operators to work, so terminals and depots are closing en masse in the Moscow region. This has already led to serious disruptions in the transportation hub of the Russian capital.
In addition, the terminals that are still operating in the Moscow region have doubled the prices for their services.
According to the SVR, the railway infrastructure in the Moscow region is operating at the limit of capacity, and the region's roads are filled with trucks.
If depots close completely in the Moscow region, it will lead to chaos and traffic jams.
The SVR concluded that Russia is facing an escalating crisis in container logistics. Loss of efficiency of transport infrastructure, traffic jams at borders and lack of capacity at major hubs may significantly reduce Russia's ability to quickly transfer resources.
We note that the Russian Federation is experiencing a decline in freight traffic amid the worsening economic situation. Decrease in freight transportation is observed for the fourth year in a row. In this regard, "Russian Railways" is planning to cut management staff and stop hiring new employees.
