Gazprom Plant Attacked By Ukrainian Drones Catches Fire Again In Orenburg

A gas processing plant in Orenburg caught fire again on the afternoon of October 20, having been attacked by Ukrainian drones the previous morning, local residents told Astra. Emergency Situations Ministry officials have already responded and sent firefighters to the scene, according to local publication Orenday.

The cause of the re-ignition is unknown, writes The Moscow Times. Video of the column of fire rising dozens of meters upwards was published by Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+.

The day before, a drone attack left the company "partially" damaged and one of its workshops on fire, Orenburg Region Governor Yevgeny Solntsev said. The AFU General Staff said one of the gas processing and purification units was hit. According to the source of "Kommersant", the enterprise stopped part of the facilities to eliminate the consequences of the attack. After that, the plant suspended the reception of raw materials from the Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan, the republic's energy ministry said. The ministry specified that they received a corresponding notification from Gazprom, which stated about "emergency situation due to UAV attack". At the same time, the Russian side did not provide information on the nature of the damage and the timeframe for restoring the operation of the enterprise.
