One flight was canceled.

Germany's Munich airport was temporarily closed on the evening of October 18 after reports of unidentified drones.

The federal police reported the sightings, AP reports.

The "suspicious sightings" were reported by several people, including security officers and airport workers.

The sightings occurred around 10 p.m. local time for about 30 minutes and then again around 11 p.m.

The airport emphasized that the impact on flights and passengers was negligible. Three flights were diverted - two of which were later able to land in Munich - and one departure was canceled.

Federal police said they did not detect any drones or suspicious persons in the area.

The airport reopened in the late evening of October 18, and air traffic operated as normal the next day morning.
