Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service has revealed the details.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the occupation troops of the Russian Federation, about 700 Russian spies operating under the cover of diplomatic missions have been expelled from European countries.
About this said the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
According to the SVR, 82 Russian "diplomats" were expelled from Bulgaria during this period, 65 from Germany, 58 from Poland, 52 from Romania, 32 from Slovakia, 34 each from Slovenia and the Netherlands, etc.etc.
After European intelligence agencies smashed the Kremlin's spy network, Russian intelligence agencies began emphasizing "disposable agents" from among Europe's civilian population.
Since 2022, for example, Poland, for example, has exposed 47 people working for Russian intelligence agencies, Estonia 20 people, Latvia 19 people, and Germany 12 people. In other words, this practice is far from an isolated case, but a special strategy.
According to the SVR, Russian intelligence services use the Internet, social networks, church communities, sports clubs and mass events to recruit European citizens.
The "disposable agents" want to obtain specific information or use them to perform certain tasks in favor of the Kremlin.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine believes that the recruitment of "disposable agents" in Europe is a hybrid strategy of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who wants to undermine European countries.
