The meeting is to take place in Budapest.
The White House is hoping that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky could be included in the meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Budapest, CBS correspondent Nancy Cordes told CBS correspondent Nancy Cordes, citing White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt.
"Based on what Caroline Leavitt said, there is still a possibility, at least that's what the White House is hoping, that Zelensky could be included in these talks. According to President Trump, they will take place in a couple of weeks in the Hungarian capital, Budapest," the reporter said.
She said she asked Levitt about the conditions Putin had set for the meeting with Zelensky and clarified whether he had said anything else about his demands. Perhaps during a phone call with Trump on Oct. 16.
"Trump and Putin discussed the possibility of meeting in Budapest, and President Trump will talk about that possibility with President Zelensky when he is here at the White House," was the spokeswoman's response.
