Will Hungary Arrest Putin In Budapest?

Hungary's foreign minister issued a statement.

Hungary, following Mongolia and Tajikistan, has refused to arrest Russian dictator Putin on an International Criminal Court warrant.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó.

Sijjarto made it clear that Putin should not be intimidated by the prospect of being arrested on an ICC warrant in Hungary when the Russian dictator arrives in Budapest for a summit with US President Donald Trump.

Sijjarto said the date and details of the meeting between Trump and Putin will be known later when officials from the three countries discuss them. Budapest, they say, is ready to "provide proper conditions" for the talks because Hungary is supposedly "one of the safest countries in the world."

Sijjártó made it clear that Budapest will ignore the ICC arrest warrant for Putin. Moreover, Putin is expected in Hungary "with respect."
