Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Thursday evening gave orders to create an organizing committee to prepare the summit of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Budapest, the work has already begun. The Hungarian prime minister said this in an interview aired on a local radio station, writes magyarnemzet.hu.

Orban said that he spoke on the phone with Trump on Thursday evening and intends to speak with Putin today.

He also said that "there are many places outside Europe where such a meeting could be held, but apart from Budapest, there is no other such place in Europe." At the same time, he called Hungary "the only peace-loving country that has been openly, loudly and actively advocating for peace for the last three years."

He said a meeting between Putin and Trump could take place a week after the Russian and US foreign ministers' meetings, which are scheduled for next week.

"Yesterday, the president (Donald Trump) said to get ready, a meeting between the two foreign ministers is on the agenda.... He (with Putin) decided that the two foreign ministers will try to solve the remaining issues within a week and then, after a week, they can already come here to Budapest," he said." he said.
