Trump And Putin Agree To Meet And Hold New Talks

The meeting between the U.S. president and the Russian dictator will take place in Hungary.

US President Donald Trump has said he will meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Budapest "to see if we can end 'this inglorious war between Russia and Ukraine'." He wrote this in Truth Social after talking with Putin.

Before that, the presidents' advisers will meet, with the U.S. delegation led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The location of their meeting has not yet been determined.

"Tomorrow I will meet with President [of Ukraine Volodymyr] Zelensky in the Oval Office, where we will discuss my conversation with President Putin and much more. I believe that today's phone conversation made significant progress," Trump added.

Hungary has already expressed its readiness to host a meeting between Putin and Trump.

"The scheduled meeting between the Presidents of the United States and Russia is great news for peace-loving people around the world. We are ready!", Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote in X.

Trump wrote about the meeting in Budapest after his phone conversation with Putin. The Russian side has not yet commented on these words.
