Exchange prices for gold rose above $4300 per ounce for the first time in history. December futures for the precious metal on the New York Mercantile Exchange (COMEX) at the trading on Thursday, October 16, rose by 2.47% and reached $4305.5 per ounce at the peak, according to trading data at 19:19 Minsk time.

Prices for silver also updated the historical maximum. At the moment, December futures for this metal rose by 4.34% to $53.615 per ounce.
