Two more shipments of weapons are currently being prepared for delivery.
Ukraine has received the first two shipments of weapons under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative to purchase US weapons for subsequent transfer to Kiev. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to an unnamed Ukrainian official.
According to the publication, two more batches of weapons are currently being prepared for delivery.
"The first two batches have been delivered, two more next batches are being prepared," the agency reports, citing a Ukrainian official.
On October 16, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmygal said that Kiev's allies' commitments under the PURL program, which they provided during negotiations in Brussels, amounted to only $422 million. According to him, the Ukrainian side received pledges from several countries to provide bilateral military aid, including Sweden ($8 billion), the Czech Republic ($72 million), Canada ($20 million), Portugal ($12 million), and Finland without specifying the value.
He added that Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and Iceland supported Kiev on investments in the defense industrial sector totaling more than $715 million.
