Lukashenko urged to use gold and foreign currency reserves to inject funds into the economy. He said this at a meeting on forecast documents for 2026.

"The fact that more currency appears is good. But the currency must work. And it is necessary to have a reserve as much as we need. Maybe a little by little we can put this money into circulation. We should act in a business-like manner," he said to the head of the National Bank Roman Golovchenko.

The regime may have exhausted other methods of influencing the economy.
