There was a fire at a strategic facility.

On the night of October 16, drones launched a massive attack on energy facilities in Russia's Volgograd region, which supply electricity to the military and strategic enterprises. This was reported by Russian Telegram channels, writes "Dialog.UA".

According to Telegram channels, there were several explosions in the Volgograd region on the night of October 16. The drone strikes resulted in a fire at a strategic facility.

The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, confirmed that strike UAVs attacked the region on the night of October 16. He said that as a result of "falling UAV debris" a fire broke out at the Balashovskaya power transmission line substation. Repair services are restoring power supply. Bocharov claims that the drone attack was allegedly successfully repelled. In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry said that 51 Ukrainian UAVs were allegedly intercepted or destroyed over the Russian regions tonight.

The Russian Federation has many military and strategic facilities in the Volgograd region, so the AFU regularly launches strikes against them. For example, on the night of October 15, drones attacked an oil refinery in Volgograd, which supplies fuel to the Russian occupation army in Ukraine.

The refinery in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd is a Lukoil company. As a result of the attack, a heavy fire started on the territory of the refinery. This enterprise annually refines more than 15 million tons of oil. It produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other types of fuel.
