The flight of Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth was headed to the United States but made an unscheduled landing in Britain because of a crack in the windshield, an aide to the official Shawn Parnell said on social media X.

Hegseth, Parnell explained, was returning from a meeting of NATO defense ministers. His jet landed in the UK. "The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Minister Hegseth, are safe," Parnell said.
