Russian Airplane "dropped" A Bomb Near A Strategic Airfield In Engels For The First Time

The airfield is a key base for Russia's strategic aviation.
A Russian plane has for the first time "dropped" an aerial bomb on Engels in the Saratov region near a strategic airfield used for massive strikes in Ukraine.
It is reported by Telegram Astra.
It is noted that on October 12, an aerial bomb (FAB-500) came off a Russian plane abnormally in a field near the village of Kvasnikovka, part of the city of Engels. The avibomb did not explode, and there were no casualties, a source in the Russian Emergencies Ministry added.
Reminder that Engels is home to a Russian military airfield, which is a key base for Russia's strategic aviation. According to the AFU General Staff, from this airfield, in particular, planes that launch missile strikes against Ukraine take off.
Thereby, ASTRA's editorial board is aware of at least 126 aerial bombs (119 FABs and 7 UMPBs) and three missiles that have fallen from Russian aircraft in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, at least 165 bombs fell on these territories.
