The country's Ministry of Defense has signed a memorandum with community organizations.

The Estonian Defense Ministry, the Defense League and the HK Unicorn Squad have signed a memorandum of cooperation to train adults to operate drones.

This is according to a statement by the country's defense ministry.

Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur and Major General Ilmar Tamm, commander of the Estonian Defense League, signed a memorandum of understanding with HK Unicorn Squad MTÜ.

The aim of the cooperation is to popularize drone flight training among the public. Pevkur said that drones will be an important component of future military operations.

"We have recently started drone training in Estonia's first secondary schools. The signed memorandum of understanding is another step forward as we will start training adults. This will give citizens the opportunity to develop their technology skills and contribute to Estonia's comprehensive national defense," he stressed.

It is noted that in order to raise awareness about the use of drones, the Defense League and HK Unicorn Squad MTÜ will start offering basic training for those interested in drone technology through the "Kuri Kotkas" training program.

"Estonians are interested in developing their drone skills, but don't know where to start. Kuri Kotkas is a training program designed primarily for beginners," said Taavi Kotka, founder of HK Unicorn Squad.

He said that through practical flight exercises, those who wish to do so can learn the basics of using drones in a military context.
