Lithuanian Border Guards Did Not Let A Belarusian Into The Country

What's the reason?

A Belarusian man driving a truck was not allowed to enter Lithuania. The reason was a forged vehicle registration certificate, says the Lithuanian customs. After inspecting the van, VSAT officers found two more altered documents. By the way, the license plates also turned out to be fake.

45-year-old citizen of Belarus drove into the checkpoint in a Renault Master with Kyrgyz license plates and showed the border guards the documents. A short-term Italian visa was pasted in his passport. After a thorough inspection, it was found that the registration certificate was a forgery because it did not meet the requirements for such documents, says Lithuanian customs.

After the inspection of the car, another certificate was found, which was assessed as a partial forgery: the category had been changed from truck to minivan. A third one was also found, in which the entry on the type of vehicle category was deleted.

The front registration plate of the Renault Master was also found to be fake. The original Kyrgyz license plate was mounted only on the back. Another real license plate was in the car.

According to all this, a protocol on administrative offense was drawn up in respect of the Belarusian and he was issued a fine of 120 euros. The man admitted to buying fake license plates.

The Belarusian showed VSAT staff three passports valid until 2034-2035. One of them turned out to be canceled, although it had a valid visa.

The man said that he was going to Lithuania to visit a friend.

- A Belarusian citizen was not allowed to enter Lithuania by the decision to deny entry at the border. The driver returned to Belarus in a Renault Master car. Two fake vehicle registration certificates and fake license plates were seized from him and temporarily kept at the border checkpoint Padvareonis," Lithuanian customs said.
