U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that he believes Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could help end the war in Ukraine. He said this while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.

Trump emphasized that Erdogan has an advantage because of his good relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Yes, Erdogan can. He is respected by Russia. Regarding Ukraine, I can't tell you, but Putin respects him," Trump said.

He called Erdogan his friend, noting that he "only gets along with the strong, not the weak," and emphasized that they have a good relationship.

"You know, when NATO has a problem with Erdogan, which is often, they call me and ask to talk to him. And I have never failed once - everything is solved literally instantly," the head of state said.
