Brussels has allocated the first 10 million euros to bring Kremlin criminals to justice.
European diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas has announced the allocation of the first 10 million euros for the creation of a special tribunal to examine Russia's crimes, as well as another 6 million euros to support Ukrainian children and victims of sexual abuse deported by Russia.
She said this during a press conference, nv.ua reported.
"Today I can also announce the allocation of the first 10 million euros for the creation of a special tribunal to examine Russia's crimes," she said at a press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga on Monday.
Callas recalled that EU foreign ministers met in Lviv in May to launch this tribunal.
"Russian leaders are responsible for this war, and if there was no crime of aggression, there would be no further crimes or atrocities. Therefore, no one should go unpunished for the crimes committed," Callas emphasized.
Separately, she noted that Russia's deportation of Ukrainian children and sexual violence are "some of the darkest pages of the war unleashed by Russia."
"Today we are allocating a further €6 million to support the care of children deported by Russia and victims of sexual violence. This will help ensure that the victims of these crimes are properly cared for," Kallas said.
