FT: US Has Selected Targets And Planned Ukrainian Attacks Deep Inside Russia

The U.S. military has been sharing intelligence with the AFU for months.

The The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported that Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries and other facilities in Russia have become so successful in recent months, thanks in part to the Pentagon's help.

According to the FT, the U.S. military has been sharing intelligence with the AFU for months to help plan drone attacks. Moreover, according to the newspaper, the US military has been involved in all stages of planning the attacks.

The Financial Times' sources explained that Washington's main goal is to weaken Russia's economy and force Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table with Kiev.

According to several Ukrainian and American officials familiar with the covert operations, U.S. intelligence given to Kiev allowed strikes on important Russian energy facilities, including oil refineries, far beyond the front line.

Officially, the White House has not commented on its possible involvement in planning AFU strikes on Russian refineries deep inside the territory and far from the front line.

But according to the FT, US intelligence is helping Kiev plan routes, flight altitudes and even timing, allowing Ukrainian long-range drones to evade Russian air defenses.

According to other sources, Washington not only helped plan based on targets provided by Ukraine, but even suggested priority targets for attacks itself.

In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky refuses to disclose details of cooperation with US intelligence in his army's deep strikes on Russian territory. He only confirmed that Kiev is "cooperating with US intelligence primarily to protect itself."
