The Republican explained his decision.
Former US leader and current presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he no longer wants debates with rival Kamala Harris. According to him, "It's too late" for this.
In particular, because Americans have started voting in the 2024 elections. This is reported by the CNN channel, which sent an invitation to repeat debates to both politicians.
"The problem with another debate is that it's too late, the voting has already begun," Trump said at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina.
He added that Vice President Kamala Harris wants to hold another public discussion right before the elections, "because she's losing badly."
According to the TV channel, a national poll continues to show the absence of a clear leader in the race between Trump and Harris.
A Democratic speaker said yesterday that she had accepted CNN's invitation to participate in the debate in October, while the Republican repeated his earlier comments that he would not participate in the second debate.
