Chaly: Lukashenka's Mind Is Struggling With Two Thoughts

The dictator is mortally tired.

Analyst Siarhei Chaly expressed the opinion in an interview with Belsat that Lukashenka is losing his grip:

“He is mortally tired of everything, he is tired. Age and health are not the same anymore as it were before. His charisma goes away with age, because it is a physiological feature and it also depends on his shape. If earlier, after 20 minutes of Lukashenka's conversation with an audience that had previously been hostile to him, this audience was ready to go and vote for him, now this is no longer the case. That is, there is no more charisma. He wants to relax, play sports and look after white goats and in general, he wants the joys of pensioners. He is definitely not interested in micromanagement anymore. Figuratively speaking, now he no longer wants to deal with milk yields or potato harvests. Lukashenka already wants to work with more global issues like world peace.”

According to Chaly, Lukashenka now has a negative selection mechanism – he surrounds himself with people who bring only good news. Kachanava and Eismant provide him with this – they only talk about what he wants to hear and know, emphasising his importance and uniqueness. He lives in an information field artificially created personally for him.

According to Chaly, now Lukashenka's mind is struggling with two thoughts. On the one hand, "how tired I am of all this" and "how I want peace and not to repeat the experience when people chant "go away". And on the other, he understands that he has no one to leave the "household" to. Therefore if Lukashenka decides to hold another election, it will most likely be a concession to his inner circle and a simultaneous admission of defeat of his own "project".

“After all, if you have built a system that cannot exist without you, then it is a bad system,” the expert concluded.
