Zelensky Gives In Washington Number Of F-16s That Ukraine Needs

A whole fleet is needed.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned the number of F-16 planes, which would deprive Russia of an advantage in the sky. This is known from a conversation at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Washington, D.C., which took place on July 10.

"It's like saying it's a powerful decision to provide Ukraine with F-16s, but provide what number? They will arrive this summer - yes, I hope so. You know, we always wait, as my mum waited for me after school, and I always found a reason to come later," the politician noted.

According to him, the problem with the delivery of Western F-16 fighter jets is the number and dates.

"Russia uses three hundred planes in operations against Ukraine every day. We had a decision about 10-20. Even if there are 50 - it's nothing," Zelensky emphasised.

He said that Ukraine needs a whole fleet of 128 F-16 aircraft for defence. The leader assured that the allies are aware of this.

"Until we have 128 planes, we will not be able to compete with them in the sky, it will be difficult," he added.
